I’m a freelance photographer that works from home, but I still feel like I have to be in a studio to shoot. I have a great studio in Dallas which is awesome, but I don’t get to get out of it as often as I would like to.
As a photographer, you’re just going to have to live with yourself. I always feel like I have to be in a studio to shoot because I have to take my gear with me. But I’m sure that I’ll manage to shoot better in my own time in a better studio, maybe even a better space.
I can’t say I’m totally against the idea of working from home. I think it’s a great idea to do so if you need to, but the fact is that I know just as many people at home without a studio as I do working at a studio. And they are people who are busy already, just as busy as I am.
If you have a studio and a studio home, you could go to a different studio and go to a different location with no studio. But I think a studio is worth it if you want to live with yourself.

If you want to try it out, I would say that your own studio is probably worth it if you want to be a part of your own creative identity.

You could actually go to a studio where you are happy and have a lot of fun, but if you want to live with yourself and be with yourself, you have to start somewhere.
