The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.

As it turns out, Colt Vahn is an amnesiac who seems to have woken up on a beach with no memory of why he’s on Deathloop’s party island, Blackreef. That’s okay though because someone has left him vague messages in the sky about what to do. Our goal in Deathloop is to take out eight Visionaries, intelligent party-lovers who’ve locked an island into one repeating day so they can piss about for eternity.
When we’re talking about death, we’re talking about the old days of the party-lovers who just leave the island and go out like this. But we’re also talking about the new days of the party-lovers who turn up on Deathloop and start a new thread on a dead end in just the right spots.
This is where the fact that the game is playing out at all comes into play. In the old days, the party-lovers would have to stay up all night because they couldn’t afford to let out any of the island’s secrets. Now, the party-lovers can just be killed off too. It’s like the old days of the party-lovers, but then maybe not so fun.
It’s also worth noting that Deathloop is set on a beach and the party-lovers are mostly in the water. This gives you extra space to hide behind but also allows a party-lovers to hide under your feet.
The game is also played entirely online, which means that the party-lovers can use any of the islands technology, including lasers, explosives, etc. It is worth also noting that the party-lovers are all male and are all pretty evil. Also, like any party-lovers, they have lots of guns.
Deathloop’s tech is also a real drag. It’s a party-lovers-only game where you can’t interact with the island itself. You must rely on your gadgets and skills to take out the Visionaries. Also, the party-lovers are all male and only one of them is female. I have no idea if this is intentional, but I think it might be.
You can see how some of the party-lovers are trying to get their minions in the game. They are trying to make them more “male” at the expense of their gender. This is probably intentional because the game is supposed to be a party-lover’s only game. You can see how this is working.
