You can write for other people, you can freelance, you can sell your services to other companies, you can join an online startup, you can even get hired or hired to work for a company that is not your former employer and you can even get hired to work for a company that is your former employer and they pay you a salary that is a lot lower than what you make in your current job.
The biggest problem with all these jobs is that to get them you have to be willing to do some work that is below your skill level and pay people lower than what you would in your current job.
